Round two of the Triumph-powered Moto2 class took place this weekend under grey skies in Argentina. The event was cancelled in 2024 and returned this year in front of record crowds for the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit of 208,979.

In Saturday’s qualifying, Manuel Gonzalez made it two out of two pole positions, ahead of Jake Dixon and Marcos Ramirez in third. Alex Escrig impressed as he lined up fourth beating his previous best qualifying on 15th.

In Sunday's race, it was Dixon who got the best start taking the holeshot from Gonzalez with Ramirez holding third. Dixon’s teammate Filip Salac also got a great start from sixth, soon passing Ramirez into third and Gonzalez into second as the Marc VDS duo led a train of seven riders at the front.

Once Dixon hit the front, that is where he stayed setting lap record after lap record as he dominated the race throughout. Gonzalez settled into second as the five riders behind shuffled places in the battle for the final podium step.

It wasn’t to be for Salac as he crashed out at the halfway mark. Celestino Vietti and Aron Canet were the front runners in the battle for third. Canet was battling shoulder pain after a heavy crash in practice and ultimately Vietti came out on top of a hard-fought battle for the final podium place. Marcos Ramirez rounded out the top five ahead of Darryn Binder and Alex Escrig.
